Promoting High-Quality Education
Through the establishment of libraries at various schools in Northern Pakistan, Elev8 has paved pathways for students to continue learning outside the classroom. The libraries provide an avenue for students to discover further areas of interest outside the common curriculum. Additionally, Elev8 has created a sponsorship program for students who are unable to afford access to quality education. Every year, scholars are chosen based on need and academic performance to receive scholarships which allow them to continue attending school.
Advocacy for Mental Health
Mental health is frequently overlooked in Northern Pakistan and its surrounding areas due to the lack of education and resources. Every year the Elev8 foundation hosts a session promoting an increased awareness for mental health in hopes to decrease suicide rates and promote healthy living. Our sessions aim to educate families by normalizing mental health concerns and introducing methods/tools to cope.
Women Empowerment
Young women and girls in South Asia are often faced with issues stemmed from misogyny on a daily basis. Elev8 works with women and girls specifically to promote their confidence and the prospect of a quality education. Through our annual workshop, we help girls explore careers based on their personal interests and passions. We also address issues of sexual assault and provide knowledge of coping methods and solutions.
Self Sustainability
Elev8 provides stepping stones for individuals by providing them with, not only resources, but knowledge to allow them to build upon their skills and continue to grow and succeed. We work with the aim of encouraging them, so that in the future they may help other communities in need and replace the cycle of poverty with one of development.
Cultivating Compassion
An important aspect of creating a self-sustainable community is encouraging people to give back to others and practice community service. Elev8 encourages youth to engage in community service from a young age by instilling within their curriculum, lessons about volunteerism, and treating others with kindness.
Boosting Self Esteem
Self expression is under-addressed in developing areas. As a result, there is a lack of diversity and knowledge transfer. Elev8 has also worked with schools to instill within the curriculum lessons about self confidence. We want to teach students that it’s okay to be different, start new trends, and express themselves openly.
Financial Wellbeing
In order to grow financially and break the cycle of poverty, one must know how to spend wisely and save money. Elev8 aims to educate individuals about financial budgeting so that they are able to make intellectual decisions regarding money instead of remaining at a “hand to mouth” existence. It is our hope that one day, these individuals are able to establish generational wealth for their future families.
Advocating Pluralism
Elev8 advocates for pluralism by hosting educational workshops in local schools across northern Pakistan, aiming to introduce students and community members to the rich diversity of the wider world. Recognizing that many village residents lack the resources to travel or access global perspectives, we focus on a different topic every six months—ranging from global cultures and belief systems to social identities and human experiences—that the students may not otherwise be exposed to. These sessions, held in partnership with local schools and open to the public, create safe spaces for learning and discussion, helping participants better understand and appreciate differences. By exposing young minds and their communities to ideas and identities they might not otherwise encounter, we are broadening worldviews and laying the groundwork for a more inclusive and pluralistic society.
