It started with my desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those around me. I started off in my local community, joining various organizations to conduct projects for low-income families, underprivileged students, and ill individuals. Working with these organizations deepened my passion for community service, motivated me, and gave me the confidence to start my own non-profit organization. From the start, I knew that I wanted to make a difference globally rather than just within the United States. I shared this idea with my family who were very supportive and extremely eager to join me in making a change. We sat down and established our organization's mission and focus areas based on the issues we discovered were prevalent in developing countries around the world.  We spent a couple of weeks brainstorming our first project and researching which countries needed the most support, when we were extremely fortunate to come across a young woman from Yasin, Pakistan. She was seeking for ways to extend support to her community back home and was interested in conducting a project which strongly aligned with our mission and focus areas. It was all meant to be we thought as we planned our first project, the establishment of the first library in the district of Yasin. The success of this project has led to the growth of our foundation and the inspiration to conduct further projects in this area such as the sponsorship program and quality of life enhancement workshops.  -Alysa Lakhani
